Karuna is a Sanskrit word that means “compassionate action.” This refers to thinking, speaking, behaving and acting consciously in a way that embodies love, respect, kindness, empathy and the desire to reduce the suffering of others through the divine guidance and wisdom of Spirit. As each of us pursues our own enlightenment process, we evolve and later seek to help enlighten others, to share the tools and insights we have learned along the way.
Karuna Reiki® is a tool of enlightenment that opens one up to the boundless love of Creator and our own True Heart. Through its vibrations, we accelerate our awakening and align more fully with our own Light, Beauty and Truth. Kuan Yin, the Goddess of Mercy and Compassion, is strongly associated with the transformative power of Karuna Reiki®. She is also known as Avalokiteshvara and is considered to be the embodiment of Mahakaruna, or Great Compassion. Other Bodhisattvas, or enlightened beings, that may appear during Karuna Reiki® attunements and treatments are Christ, Krishna, Mohamad, Buddha, Ascended Masters, Angels and Archangelic Beings. Karuna Reiki® helps to open one to contact and work more profoundly with all enlightened beings, in whatever form they take.
Karuna Reiki® was developed by William Lee Rand and others at The International Center for Reiki Training. It has its roots in Usui and Tibetan Reiki and emerged from years of experimentation with new symbols and attunement methods. It is the next step in the evolution of Reiki to bring greater peace, understanding and compassion to humanity and all life. |
