CranioSacral Therapy (CST) is a gentle therapeutic method that brings greater balance and well-being through subtle physio-energetic manipulations of the craniosacral system. This system consists of the cranial bones, intracranial membranes, spinal cord, cerebrospinal fluid, sacrum and fascial system, all of which move according to distinct rhythms and patterns.
These innate movements may become distorted, impaired and imbalanced through trauma (including birth trauma and childhood trauma of any kind), accidents, falls, injuries, emotional disturbances, improper exercise and movement, poor diet, drug use, and improper posture.
As a result, one may experience symptoms such as headache, sinus problems, chronic neck and back pain, impaired balance and gait, chronic fatigue, central nervous system disorders, temporomandibular joint syndrome, learning disabilities, post-traumatic stress disorder, dizziness, impaired breathing, internal organ dysfunctions including menstrual disturbances, musculoskeletal pain, inflexibility and reduced range of motion, and psycho-emotional disorders, such as depression, anxiety, indecision, apathy, irritability and general emotional difficulties.
CranioSacral Therapy detects and gently corrects imbalances in the craniosacral system. It assists in the release of restrictions to proper movement, function and healing and helps one to realign to a natural, more balanced state of being. |
