One Heart Meditation

Sit, stand or lie down in a comfortable position, and bring your awareness to your breath. Use your focus on the breath to calm and center yourself, allowing extra tension and external responsibilities to melt away.

Then, bring your awareness to your heart. Feel its warmth, its energy, its rhythm. Honor your heart for its ability to circulate your blood, to sustain your life and to radiate its powerful energy to your whole being. Recognize that your heart is interconnected with all that you are - body, mind, spirit, nature. Allow each new breath to bathe the heart in nourishing attention and care. Now, see that your heart has many dimensions. It takes physical form. It radiates energetically and nourishes your entire energy field. It is the source of great feeling and consciousness and is interconnected with the heart of every other living being. Know that your heart is one with the Heart of Mother Earth, the Heart of Grandfather Sun and the Universal Heart of Creator. It is through awareness of this connection that we are able to know and experience our infinite source of creativity, energy, passion and love.

See your heart beating in multiple dimensions simultaneously and with each beat… lub dub… lub dub… lub dub… chant these words silently to yourself, “One Heart… One Heart… One Heart…” Spend as much time here as desired, noticing any sensations, feelings, thoughts, visions or insights.
When you are ready to close, bring your awareness back to your breath. Call yourself back into waking consciousness, slowly, one breath at a time. Take a deep inhalation, and exhale with a sigh. Move and stretch your body, or walk in Nature to ground. Allow the presence of the One Heart to permeate your life and relationships, and follow its music wherever it leads you.
