Meditation is a method of self-awareness that promotes relaxation, mindfulness and a greater understanding of reality. Generally speaking, it is the means by which an individual may enter an altered state of awareness by focusing attention on a chosen point, mantra, or exercise. The meditative focus is a tool to concentrate the conscious mind so that a deeper, richer experience of reality may emerge.
